For months since its U.S. debut, Spotify has kept its membership exclusive by being invite-only. However, with the heavy media exposure received through the Facebook f8 event, the music program is now using that to its advantage by allowing membership to all who wish to join. For 6 months, all users will be able to freely use the program without any form of payment. However, after the 6 month period, Spotify will enforce listening caps similar to those found on Pandora, allowing users 10 free hours of music a month.
