“American Idol” Creator Sues Fox
“American Idol” creator, Simon Fuller, filed a lawsuit yesterday against FOX over “X Factor”. Fuller sued the U.K. “Factor” in 2004, claiming that its success depended, in part, on his creative efforts with “Idol”, which he believed the U.K. talent show drew heavy influence from. Fuller now expects compensation, in the form of an “Executive Producer” credit, for the U.S. version. FOX released a statement that Fuller has contributed nothing the U.S. “Factor”.
MTV Announces Video Music Awards Nominations
Last night, MTV revealed the nominees for the 28th edition of its Video Music Awards. Katy Perry received the most nominations among artists, with nine for four different videos. Adele and Kanye West tied for second with seven nominations each. You can read the full list of nominees here:

Paul McCartney’s 9/11 Documentary to Debut on Showtime One Day Before 10th Anniversary
Paul McCarney’s “The Love We Make”, a documentary detailing the singer’s experience in New York City immediately after the September 11 attacks, will begin airing on Showtime one day before the 10th anniversary. The film focuses on McCartney’s efforts to plan a benefit concert for the city immediately following 9/11.
